Artwork title: Il Segreto · Angiolina
Collection: Sangue Amaro
Artist: Vladimir Volegov
Contents: Sangue Amaro – Herbal amaro, 70CL – 28% VOL
An artwork charged with pathos and mystery, signed by Vladimir Volegov. Classical elegance interweaves with a suspended narrative: Angiolina appears as the keeper of a secret, something she carries with her and, at the right moment, reveals.
Volegov’s masterful brushwork, famed for the way it captures natural light and the soul of his subjects, gives the portrait a rare tension.
It is the story of a repressed truth. It is mystery confronting fear.
Sangue Amaro is not revenge, it is justice.
Distillate Profile
Sangue Amaro is not for everyone. It is for those who seek beauty in contrast — the embrace between the fire of spices and the chill of mint. An amaro that seeks confrontation and which, precisely for this reason, knows how to bring the spirit back to peace after an intense day.
To the eye it is dark brown, impenetrable, magnetic: amber reflections and a caramel heart announce a dense, velvety substance.
On the nose it opens through contrasts. First the balsamic, citrusy side — bitter orange and mandarin playing with the wild scrub of myrtle. Then the warm notes of bitter almond and pistachio, interwoven with vanilla and a breath of sweet fennel. A scent of earth, of Mediterranean scrub, of distant spices.
On the palate it is bold, a pulsing blood. Its backbone is the noble, ancient bitterness of gentian and angostura bark. Then, at the heart of the sip, the twist: the vibrant, almost tactile heat of Sichuan pepper sparks a short circuit that mint and the tannic notes of green tea extinguish in an instant.
In the finish, toasted walnut meets the warmth of allspice, leaving a spicy, piquant memory that immediately calls for another sip. Fire and ice, in the same sip. And a peace granted only to those who have passed through both.
